Notices 10th August
SING volunteers training session
If you have volunteered to help during SING weeks then you need to attend one of the volunteer training sessions on either Tues 12th August at 7.30pm or after Mass on Sunday 17th August. Please attend one of the sessions even if you have volunteered before. See Sue Church for more details.
SING T-shirts
If you have a spare SING t-shirt please could you wash it and then bring it to Sue in the church office. Many thanks.
Living Christianity: Real Christianity for Real People
This is a new training programme for us all in the Willesden Area, offering a range of short courses to encourage Christians of different stages to deepen their knowledge, understanding and spiritual life. See the leaflet with today's sheet and a colour poster and fliers are in the centre. Courses start this autumn - sign up soon! Speak to Simon or Jo if you want to discuss further what's on offer.
Minor prophets? Major message!
What do you know about Micah, Haggai, Joel, Habakkuk, Malachi, Zechariah and Zephaniah? During our Summer Sunday all age services, from July 27th to September 7th we will be finding out more about the so-called 'Minor Prophets' in the Old Testament.
Counters needed
We need a few more people to help count the collection every Sunday morning. Counters work in pairs and are on the rota about once a month. We need people who are on the electoral roll, regular worshippers here, are aged over 18 and numerate. Guidance is given and you will be paired with an experienced counter to learn the role. Please see Ray or Lucy if you are interested.
Thursday morning worship
Having consulted our Thursday morning 'regulars', a number of whose children will start school or nursery in September, we are making a change to worship on Thursdays. From July 31st daily worship has moved to a 9.15am service of Morning Prayer (lasting about 20 minutes). All continue to be welcome. During Simon's sabbatical (September-November), this arrangement will continue and will be reviewed in January.
A bit of a do for Wendy Hancock in October
Many will know and remember Wendy Hancock who retired to Australia 3 years ago. During her ministry here Wendy and her husband Richard (who died suddenly in 2004)touched and helped many people and she was the first Dovetail Co-ordinator.
In the autumn Wendy is in the UK for 2 months, and I am organising a bit of a do at the Dovetail Centre on Saturday 11th October from 7.30pm and all are invited to share and talk over old times. Wine and nibbles and various soft drinks will be provided. Entertainment from the band 'Wendy's Lost Boys'.
It would be a great help to me regarding catering if you could RSVP to me if you will be coming. Thank you, Pat Hannington
Our thanks to Edwin Washington-Ihieme, who is taking on editing the weekly newssheet. Notices will also be posted on the church website each week.
