Notices for the week 13th June 2010

Steve and Caroline's Ordination
We would love for people to come to our Ordination. It takes place at St Paul's Cathedral on 3 July. Doors open at 2, but you might want to get there a bit earlier to make sure of a good seat. St Joseph's has been very special to us and we'd love you to come and share the day with us. You are really welcome to pop in for a drink and some food straight afterwards at The Saint in Paternoster Square, right next to the Cathedral.

Prayers for our Ordinands
Please pray for Steve Morris and Caroline Newbold who are being ordained as Deacons on Saturday July 3rd, by the Bishop of London, to serve as curates at St Stephen’s, Ealing and St Matthew’s, Yiewsley respectively, and for our recent summer placement student Martin Allwood, being ordained Deacon on Sunday June 27th by the Bishop of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich, to serve as curate in the Hundred River and Wainford benefice near Beccles in Suffolk. Also Toby Crowe, our former parish assistant, being ordained as a priest by the Bishop of Willesden on Saturday July 3rd.

Bob Curson RIP
It is with sadness that we give the news that Bob died on Saturday June 5th. Chris and their son Christopher were with Bob in Meadow House as he died peacefully. Bob's funeral will be on Friday June 18th, 1.30pm at St Joseph's, with the committal at Breakspear Crematorium at 2.45pm. All are invited for refreshments to follow at the Dovetail Centre. Bob's family are requesting donations in his memory, in lieu of flowers to Meadow House Hospice. (Cheques payable to 'Meadow House Hospice'). We give thanks for a special man and faithful servant of Christ who gave so much, and was much loved in this church and community, and we offer our love and prayers to Chris, Christopher and Nick. May he rest in peace and rise in glory.

Thank you for all your cards, phone calls and prayers over the last few months and especially this last week.
We hope you will join us in celebrating Bob’s life at his funeral and in the Dovetail centre afterwards. We know it is what Bob would have wanted. Chris, Christopher and Nick

Back on the pilgrimage road
As part of my letting go of ministry responsibilities here and in the Willesden Area, as I prepare to move on, I shall be back on the pilgrim road later this week. I am walking another seven days with friends on the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route in northern Spain, this year from Burgos to Leon. I’d be grateful of your prayers as I shall be holding you in mine. With love, Simon
