This Afternoon - Pentecost Fun Afternoon of Activities
Soul in Northolt and Greenford churches are holding the 'Pentecost on the Green' event, today, 4-6pm at Northolt Green (opposite the Post office near the clock tower). Then there is a short united act of Christian worship at 6pm. Please come along.
Celebration of approx. 21 years as Prayer Partners
The flowers in church today have been given to celebrate us (Sue and Sandy) being Prayer Partners for over 21 years.
We became Prayer Partners through a Lent Course run here by the late Rev. Janet Lucas. The choice was not ours; Janet decided that we should be put together. We have both since admitted if we had been given the choice neither of us would have chosen the other! However, not only has it been a fantastic Prayer Partnership, a great friendship has also grown out of it.
Over the years we have seen many prayers answered (some not in the way we necessarily wanted), shared many joys and sadly also many sorrows.
God never ceases to surprise us with many ‘God incidences’ in our prayers. Often whilst praying, one of us has shared something and the other has said “that’s odd I was just about to say ……” Our prayers are shared face to face, by phone call and by text but always with GOD IN THE CENTRE! Matthew 18 verse 20: “For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them”.
We can’t stress enough the benefits and rewards of having someone to pray with weekly. In our case, it has also meant having someone who you can rely on to be available to pray for you, no matter what time of day or night.
Don’t be wary of forming a Prayer Partnership because you can’t immediately think of someone who you would be comfortable with …. Our partnership is proof that God will find you the right person.
If anyone is interested in the idea of forming their own Prayer Partnership or just wants to know more, please come and speak to us anytime. Sue Church and Sandy Reed.

'Farewell' gifts to ordinands in training
As a way of saying thank you, we would like to give Steve Morris and Caroline Newbold a gift through which to remember the people of St Joseph's and the Dovetail Centre when they are ordained in July. We plan to give them each a clerical stole , which will cost around £100. Donations can be passed to Ray Johnson or Simon.
100 Club
It is now approaching twelve months since we started the 100 Club as part of our drive to raise £10k internally towards the £2.8m required to refurbish our church. Membership renewals are now due to commence our second year. The renewal / application forms are available in the Dovetail Centre. It is hoped that all existing members will renew their membership. Subscription £12 a year. We need 100 members. If you are not a member but you would like to support our fundraising then please complete the application form and return it by 31 July deadline, to enter the Prize Draw. First Prize £15 and Second Prize £10. Prize draw is every first Sunday in the month, so twelve opportunities to win. Please note, ‘NO’ new applications after the 31st of July, until the next renewal date in twelve months time, so please get your applications in now. Friends and families may also join. For more information, please speak to Randolph Reid, Susan Duah, or Audrey Fleischer. Thank you for your support.

Prayers for funding applications
We are into a crucial period for funding applications for the Dovetail Centre project. Our community project worker post and our youth project worker post both reach the end of their current funding soon. Over the past few months Steve Morris and Simon Winn have been writing and submitting applications for funding (£60,000 for the community worker post over three years and £125,000 over three years for the youth worker post) and we ask for your sustained prayers in the coming months for grants officers and trustees as they consider our applications. We aim to a make a difference for good in our neighbourhood and are trusting that funders will want to back our work. Thank you.
