Notices for the week 7th March 2010

Before the Service: Speak to God
During the service: Let God speak to you
After the Service: Speak with your friends and fellow worshippers

Say One for Me
Have you heard about ‘Say One For Me’, a new website from the Church of England that’s asking for people’s prayer requests online? When you send it, the Bishops of Birmingham, Huntingdon, Leicester, Manchester, Worcester and the Archbishop of York will pray for you. The blurb says: "It only takes a few words to say what’s worrying you. What have you got to lose by asking God for what you need? So simply write your prayer here. You don’t have to tell us your name." When you click ‘Amen’ your prayer will be submitted and forwarded to the Bishops. Do tell your friends about the site. http://sayoneforme.org/

Prayers for funding applications
We are into a crucial period for funding applications to grant-making trusts for the Dovetail Centre project. Our community project worker post (part-time) reaches the end of its current funding at the end of May and our youth project worker post (full-time) finishes at the end of June. Over the past few months Steve Morris and Simon Winn have been writing and submitting applications for funding (£60,000 for the community worker post over three years and £125,000 over three years for the youth worker post) and we ask for your sustained prayers in the coming months for grants officers and trustees as they consider our applications. We aim to a make a difference for good in our neighbourhood and are trusting that funders will want to back our work. Thank you.
